Melancholic moments came and go, always leaving a lesson behind. Honestly, that's the feel of the whole manga. I wanted to help, but at the same time, I wanted her to struggle on her own, because victory is so much precious that way. Seeing her fall in love is like seeing a newborn fawn give its first steps. Still, it's very present, and a pleasure to read. The romantic aspect of this manga is sometimes overshadowed by the slice of life approach. She remembers her mother fondly, and follows the teachings she gave her before she passed. She often evokes her mother's memory to deal with helping raise the twins. Due to two of the main characters being children, we experience firsthand their maturation and the struggles that come with it.Īdditionally, we are also presented with quite a few flashbacks, pertaining mostly, but not exclusively, to Shiharu. Growth is one of the most fundamental themes of Love so Life.
